Wireless Mice – OPS                                                                                   February 2018

NOTE: CBH IT Support do not support the use of wireless mice and would recommend that users become more accustomed to using the touch screen on their devices in conjunction with either a stylus or the touchpad. Hot Desks are already equipped with traditional mice and keyboards so you should use these when working from an office. ‘Tablet Mode’ (when the 2-in-1 keyboard is detached from the screen) is, in fact, a lot easier to work in without a mouse – it just needs a little practice. Should you wish to use a wireless mouse however, here are some tips…

SET UP

  1. Open the battery cover; the wireless transmitter is stored in here on delivery so should be there on first use. Take it out and insert the batteries.
  2. Make sure that the two ‘AAA’ batteries are inserted correctly in the battery compartment (the negative [-] contacts connect to the ‘spring’ terminals
  3. Firmly replace the battery compartment cover
  4. Plug the wireless transmitter into the single USB port on the tablet (screen) section – make sure that it’s inserted firmly and don’t forget that it’s there! (if you lose it, it can’t be replaced – you’ll need to get a new mouse – arrange this via your team leader, please)
  5. The 2-in-1 should detect and set up the mouse automatically – just use it like a desktop mouse
  6. There is no ‘on-off’ switch – if the mouse doesn’t turn off automatically after a few minutes, remove the batteries and keep safe until next use

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your mouse doesn’t work, please follow the following troubleshooting tips:

  1. Check that the power light on the underside is on, if not press one of the mouse buttons a couple of times; if this doesn’t work…
  2. Replace the installed batteries with batteries that you know have power in them and ensure that they are fitted correctly, as above
  3. Check that the transmitter is inserted in the USB port on the 2-in-1
  4. If you get an error message such as ‘USB device not recognised’ unplug the transmitter, restart the 2-in-1 and re-insert the transmitter following steps 1-5 in SET UP (above)

Please follow ALL the above steps BEFORE contacting IT Support, and be prepared to be told that there’s nothing that can be done short of getting a new mouse! Sorry
