Windows 10 Live Desktop will take the resolution as set on the host machine (e.g. 2-in-1, Laptop, Wyse Terminal) for it's display settings. You cannot change the settings once you are logged in, so with Wyse terminals you will have to change the screen resolution before you log in.

The attached PowerPoint Show shows you how to do this.

PLEASE NOTE - HEALTH AND SAFETY/EASE OF ACCESS/OPTIMAL USE etc.

  • Your CBH device or Wyse terminal will automatically detect the monitor it's connected to and adjust the settings accordingly to those recommended for the best display on the attached monitor(s). You should only change it as a last resort
  • With the 24" screens as used on CBH Hot Desks this resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. This setting gives the clearest display and optimises program screens to display fully.
  • If you change this to a lower setting the display will become 'fuzzy' and in many cases harder to read and could also mean that app pages/screens do not display fully and you will have to scroll up and down to see all the content.
  • If you have great difficulty in seeing items on the screen then this could indicate that you may need eyesight correction and you should seek advice from a qualified optician (CBH operate a system where you can claim all or part of these costs should you need eyesight correction - full details can be obtained from HR, but the application form is also attached below - you also need to complete an expenses form)
  • You can also try adjusting the 'Zoom' settings in a particular program to enlarge/decrease the size of what you're viewing - in Office apps like Word and Excel, there is a sliding control to the bottom right of the screen. For web pages, the browser also has a zoom control in settings (will vary slightly depending on which browser - do a web search to find out for your browser) - alternatively you can change the zoom on web pages by holding down the 'Ctrl' key (usually bottom left on a keyboard) at the same time pressing the + or - keys.
