Logging in to Live Desktop (Windows 10) and other RDP (Remote Desktop Procedures) requires authenticating via the Microsoft Authenticator app. Sometimes the authentication request arrives but does not display as normal, the user does not realise it has arrived and eventually the log in times out and is unsuccessful.


The attached article describes this issue and how to deal with it and log in successfully. The instructions relate to Live Desktop ("The Pond") but apply to all RDP
